"Sam, I doubt it was yours or Jason's fault, but I still don't like the idea of either of you being in the presence of someone unstable enough to pull a gun on you. Sam, I know you have one of your own, but I also know you have training and know the correct time to use it.

"Jason Howard Landon, I expect you to tell me everything tomorrow morning during breakfast." the older woman says. She seems to still be surreptitiously checking her grandson to make sure he's still in one piece.
"I will leave you two to your evening." Gran says finally, kissing Jason on his cheek before leaving the room.
