Vernique had informed Svalin and the others about Ryan's birthday and once she did Svalin went about making him a gift. She hobbled about at the forge and made him a dagger. It was similar to the one she made Vernique, but different enough to be unique.
She wrapped it in some soft cloth and put it next to the items that Vernique had made and got him.
