Eli /almost/ discovers why Johnny Ringo was one of the most famed quick draws of his day and age, extraordinary even among super heroes. His finger taps the hair-trigger button, and even with surprise, might well have clipped the kid if the hover platform hadn't suddenly dipped at the same time, throwing his aim upward.
A moment later the disc crashes and Ringo goes rolling, firing into the gathered group as he makes a dash for it.
