"Ma'am," Marlow said to Akilah, "this isn't helping." She used Ma'am because she didn't know the other woman and she'd been taught that politeness was never out of bounds in any situation. "Please wait until we're done before rehashing the choices we could have made."
Behind them, a second Marlow illusion appeared to watch their backs. They would be warned if something appeared behind them. With the firepower already in the group with Dawn and Matt, she felt comfortable with manning a second illusion as an early alert. Combat magic was still at her fingertips if needed.
