"Bruce," she amended with a nod. "You seem very genuine and earnest about wanting to have a true and honest relationship with me on the parent-child level. You also appear to be a man of some business power, given that my mother and Shaw saw fit to wreck your life. With that being the case you need to understand something before you decide if you honestly want to claim me."
She took a deep breath and told him about her childhood and spared no details. It wasn't something that she would ordinarily just disclose but she'd so badly wanted to know her father as a child that the idea of that secret taking him away from her now that he was found.
