Later on, Theo Arliss will point to this moment as yet another time people with their stupid energy blasts managed to get one over on him. He /had/ that little pipsqueak dead to rights before that blast came from nowhere.
One day, he's going to figure out how to stop this from happening so much.
For now, he's unconscious as the blow to the back of his skull finds its mark and drops into the darkness.
