It was all so galling, of course. The mistrust they both knew they'd be facing. The mistrust they always faced in one form or another. It must be additionally galling for Andrew in some ways, since he didn't even share many of the 'damning' qualities and opinions of many in their country.

It was funny the way things went. If the X-Men had been quicker to act than Magneto and her parents when they were eight, Andrew would either be on a dig somewhere right now, or the smartest boy at Xavier's, two inches closer to decent by human standards and hearing about the troubles of his scandalous grandfather's country on the news.

And the country would be doomed at a time like this.
And what's more, she would never have known him.
How selfish of her that the thoughts were equally horrible.
