Heading for the Symkaria Meeting
Kristoff got Vincent and Andrea together privately within the castle.

"Vincent and I have obtained invitations to the meeting in Symkaria," he says. "Raising the likelihood that this is a trap from 'very likely' to 'extremely likely'."

It is less than an hour's journey from here, so we can, with luck, get back quickly. We will take one of the castle vehicles, so that if you need to leave Latveria, you have the Fantasticar. Vincent hesitates, then takes both of Andrea's hands, looking at her intently. "We will be back, I assure you. If you have any problems with the functionaries, just try to make yourself as generally cold and imposing as possible and declare you're acting under my direct orders. That should cover nearly any resistance. Putting someone into a wall as an example generally helps as well."

They are going to likely spring a trap by people who have managed to capture and imprison the world's most personally powerful monarchs. Kristoff is a mere mortal, and an honest man. He cannot provide the same assurances as his brother.

"Strictly for the record," he tells Andrea, "It has been an honor to know you, Andrea. If you see Cassandra and the children, and all the others, before I do, please tell them that I love them very much."

For a moment, irrational prediction programs run themselves, and Andrea considers a world in which she will never see either of these men, who are her friends, who are her family, ever again. It is a terrible thought and though the programs come unbidden, she does not consciously cause them to cease.

"I am glad to have you both in my life," she tells them, "and I look forward to an even longer period of this. Be safe, both of you."

Going in radiating too much 'heavy artillery' in the works would tip our hand at being aware of the possible trap, and possible activate said countermeasures automatically." Vincent seems to mull over a few options, then reaches into one of the hidden pockets of his cape for a spell component. He fishes out a pair of iron rings and double-checks their integrity.

"Within the immediate time-frame, I can imbue each of these with three charges. A full minute of invisibility, one reasonably strong wall of force to be projected either offensively or defensively, and one fireball of moderate strength. I can attune each one to activate at a word of your choosing." He takes care to present the option objectively, not dismissing Kristoff's knowledge of magical formulae, even if he lacks the capacity for them.

"Similar preparations on a ring for myself should allow us to go prepared but not raising any alarms. Anything more intensive that that I'll have to come up with on the spot."

Vincent smiles at the compliment, then nods, slipping the rings onto each index finger beneath his gloves. He'll place the enchantments on them en route.

He reaches for Kristoff's gauntlets, laying his hands on them gingerly, eyes shutting. He runs his fingertips across them. They're familiar to him, but he's focusing on the minutia. Runes flicker over their surface as his lips move quietly, invoking power to tie the gauntlets to their maker.

"Weapons and shield, built by mind, by hand, and by fire.. your creator will call 'pon thee to fly to his aid... By this call, you will know his need." He nods to Kristoff, bidding him to speak the command phrase of his choice.
