"Because if I didn't get out once and awhile, people would be hassling me to get out." Though it was weird. She hadn't been hassled by her best friend in months. Had Anya been too wrapped up in school, her team and missing Steve to miss something going on in her best friend's life.
Now that she thought about it, she hadn't seen Toni tonight. This wasn't exactly Toni's scene, but she had come every year even if it were to keep an eye on Anya. Now Anya was worried.
"I'm just trying to be normal so people don't worry," she said quietly. Tears clouded her vision.
