Brightly Shown the Moon that Night, Though the Frost was Cruel
Muir Island had seen many large Christmas celebrations over the years, but this was one of the biggest. The building was warm in the cold North Scotland weather, and brimming with people.

Loretta Lynn's Christmas album was playing loudly. This was not an attempt to make any Kentucky guests feel extra-welcome, but simply because, as any of his stepgrandpuppies would happily explain, Sean was daft.

Moira happily clutched at Lucas as they came into the front atrium along with Cassidy and Izzy.

	Muir Island is a big change for Cassidy. The cold weather was colder than he expected, a sharp change from Georgia and even New York; he was glad he took Moira's suggestion to get a new coat. He gave Moira, Danielle, Lucas and Izzy their Christmas cards once they all landed. Here, in the atrium, Cassidy reaches over to take Izzy's hand. "This place is huge." he says. Big enough, in fact, for three younger wolves to come bounding through the next doorway together..

One is solid black, one is a silverwhite wolf, but smaller than Danielle, and the one between the two has a coat spotted in light and dark.

And they are all pouncing on Moira and Danielle.

Amidst giggling and fuzzy wrestling. "Douglas, Lock, and Tyrylfa, these are Cassidy, Izzy, and o'course, Lucas."

Delilah had been the first to arrive, having the shortest distance to go. Northern Scotland made London seem warm by comparison, but Del wouldn't have missed this gathering and more importantly she was home. Muir Island will always be home to her no matter how cold it got.

She heard the commotion near the front door and went to see who had arrived.

She smiled when she saw her 'cousins'. "We were beginning to think you all found some place better to be this year."

Lucas extends his hand when others are offered. "Lucas Moonstar." he offers, before grinning at the enthusiastic pups. "Ah, but a hand won't do for you, will it?" he asks.

Just as he did when meeting the wolves, he promptly gets down on his hands and knees, and thumps the floor with his hands, before rolling over in gestures of playfulness to wolves. Only polite to greet everyone in their own language.

	And Granny Moira and Sean come to the doorway. "Och, dinna just huddle up in here. The good stuff's in the kitchen," Moira tells everyone warmly. Sean's looking a bit more specifically at the boy who obviously isn't Moira's boyfriend. Moira had called of course, it's just... a lot to get used to, but not a bad thing. Cassidy sees his grandfather and takes a deep breath. He's not going to freak out, he's not going to mute himself by accident. He focuses on the flow air coming into his body, making its way around, then back out of his body and lets go of Izzy's hand.

Uncle Scott wouldn't be afraid; Cassidy decides he's not going to be, either.

"Hello, Mr. Cassidy. My name is Cassidy Summers. It's nice to meet you." he says, nodding respectfully.

Cassidy liked his family so far. Grandpa Sean was really cool as was Granny Moira. They were genuinely nice people, which Cassidy liked.

Which made him all the more sure that they wouldn't like him if they knew what he'd really done.

A bit later, while everyone is talking, Cassidy slips away to the back of the house with his coat and sits down to look out over the water and think about a few things.

"Yeah, I do. A few months ago, I never thought I'd be sitting here with family, with...you." Cassidy says.

He is silent for awhile, saying nothing before he looks in Izzy's direction again.

"Isabelle? You and me...is it all just in my head? We've been spending a lot of time together over the last couple of months, but am I the only one who feels like I feel?" he asks.

Yeah, that made sense, Cassidy. he thinks.

Cassidy smiles. "Yes, I want to be your boyfriend, Izzy. Or as close to it as I can get. I care about you and like you a lot.

I wouldn't have been able to do this if you hadn't been here with me." Cassidy says.

"You were the first person on the scene that day with Jake and...you saved me." he tells her, reaching over to take her hands in his.

"Ever since then, we've just been in each other's orbit and now, I'm not sure what I'd do if you weren't around."
