Manawydan was dumb, but he wasn't dumb enough to stay around once the other Asgardians started showing up. His bride's siblings needed to be dealt with very carefully and on his terms, not theirs.
"This is not the last of you see of Manawydan, my lovely bride," he said to Aridis before disappearing.
