Rose grinned as she took a seat. "Sometimes," she said, "crazy works."
God, she'd been so worried about him. Funny, that, really. She'd had her friends back home, but she'd never ever thought she'd ever get close to a guy the way she had here. And him askin' her to marry him, well, that wasn't even something she'd ever dreamed about as a little girl. She'd more than left that to Annie and the rest.
Now though, well, she was one maybe woman.
"Might have ta let you win that one," she grinned.
