"Anger is usually a mask for unacknowledged pain. Usually." Julian says. He takes off his overcoat and drapes it over the couch, then sits down after she does.
"Now, before we start down Recrimination Railroad, let's establish a few things. First, why would someone attack you? They had to know there was a good chance that you were being followed by cameras and that people watch your comings and goings. You also have a team who would strike back if something happened. Whoever did this was pretty sure you were alone. Sending a speedster was a good idea. If they managed to kill you, it would have been nearly impossible to find them." Julian surmises.
"The fact that they used a killing attack, but did /not/ kill you, indicates that you're getting close enough to be a threat, but you don't have anything substantial. Otherwise, they'd have made sure you were dead before leaving." Julian says. His tone is so professional and clinical that Lisa might believe he's studied this sort of thing in the past.
"I really like your apartment, by the way. You have more money than you can spend, but you don't like to show it. Interesting." he says. His tone is still professional, studious.
"I guess my second relates to the first: What are you looking into that would cause someone to come after you?" he asks.
