Misha's invitation took an extra day to be read because it was sent to his penthouse address and he didn't pick up his mail until the following morning. He really hadn't considered he would be invited although he knew the family would.
Before Darlene could find out and get involved, he dialed Lyta's number to ask if she was free to go with him. For added incentive, he would also mention that there would probably be shopping with Mom and Anya if she was interested.
