Sydney didn't just /fail/ to pick Zoey up from school. If she ever thought she'd be even a minute late, she called Avery or Bryn to pick her up. Avery did /not/ like that the chill in his spine was only growing worse.
"I'm on my way, though I'm sure Sydney is as well." he says, packing up his things before heading to the door.
As soon as he hangs up with the school, he tries Sydney's phone.
