Avery doesn't like the sound of that at all.
"How could someone do this and just run away?" Avery asks, uncomprehending.
"We'll have to let the police handle that for now. Zoey's with the Defenders right now, but you and I should set up a schedule for picking her up from school. Let's try to keep her as close to her routine as possible." Avery says.
