He nods. "That's the theory, anyway. It doesn't seem that way for the first few decades, maybe a century, according to some of the younger people, less than a milennia old anyway. After all, a lot of this can't be casual study or you'll get lost in conversations. People casually reference people who've been dead for two thousand years, and you're expected to know who they are, along with all the major cultures, Eternals history, the pantheons... it gets pretty intensive, just more to learn sometimes for the first while. On the other hand, there's no finals. If you fail, you just end up looking really confused the next time people are discussing the merits of Chaldean poetry versus Ancient Greek."
