You can't let your boss watch from the mezzanine at a Wendy's.
"Plenty of things that aren't bizarre or aphrodisiacs, I promise. Menu's right there. Anyway," she says, her voice quieting considerably, but still even, measured, pleasant. "The job's changed. Before, I'd talked about dealing with a two-bit, well, three-bit at the most, probably in a way that would demonstrate an object lesson as well. But it seems my employer has a more urgent problem, and it needs to be handled with even more discretion."
