Halbjorn has enough instinct to move his head aside, the heavy axe burying itself into his shoulder instead, burying itself down to bone. His left hand comes up and grabs the axe handle to keep it from being pulled out of his shoulder so his swing can't be parried in turn, swinging the two handed axe in just his right hand at Skurge's torso.
