At midnight, Marlow isn't in bed or in the main house. She's outside where the demon hordes disappeared, walking the grounds while she discussed it with the voice. Something is still bothering her head about it. She didn't mention it to the others; they weren't interested in what a mere mortal might think about things. So she didn't hear a phone ring.
