The apology and the pain she can detect in that last part takes some of the wind out of the building Tiny Human Rage.
She steps over and puts a hand on his arm. "Sigurdur, your brother being a traitor's got nothing to do with anything. Svalin's grandfather knew you could do the job, that having you around would be good for Svalin, and I'll bet anything your parents are really proud of you." She says it all calmly, tenderly, but then takes a breath to say a little more firmly. "But really, when Svalin Thorsdottir starts worrying about one's gloomygutsness, one really has to reconsider how one's going about one's day. Especially since Svalin's got enough to worry about."
