"I find it strange that Shaw chose to tread carefully around these people, but saw no reason to do the same with those older and more powerful than them. Shaw made odd steps at times, a few I haven't fully understood yet.
Still, a portion of these peoples' power comes from being feared. When they don't get that, they move into threats. If we let them push us around, they'll just keep doing until someone stands up to them.
