Julian listens to Lisa's words and he can hear the truth in them, he can tell that she means what she's saying...which makes this all the more uncomfortable by the moment.
Love does not exist. It is simply another tool the weak use to entrap the strong, my son. And you are strong. Do not let yourself be brought low by love.
His mother's words ring so clearly in his ears that Julian could swear she's sitting in the car with them. He takes a deep breath.
"Your parents are fools, then. They should have been cheering for you rather than shunning you. Your sister could be in for the same treatment should she manifest an ability." Julian says thoughtfully.
"I see that this has affected you, Lisa. And I know it would hurt you if the same happened with Emily."
