"You're mistaken about how that works, you know. I got my powers from my mother, not a mother who couldn't care less from my powers. My powers kept me safe when she wouldn't do it. And you aren't listening about my boyfriend. Justin wanted to bring me with him; I am the one who chose to stay here. Me. I made the decision to stay here and honor my responsibilities while he went to the Midwest."
Tina shook her head.
"There is no such thing as a life without fear and I've never once been afraid of anyone because I'm a mutant. In case you've forgotten I'm damn near bulletproof when I'm deep in my powers. I am who I am and there is nothing about me that is disabled. I'm half her, half you. I just happen to have DNA that lights up differently under a microscope and I'm not afraid of that.
