Been a long time.
Esteban knew there was someone he just had to see now that he was here. Uncle Julio always said the Guthries were everything the Richters failed to be: a big, loving family that raised their kids with some actual chingaso decency. Uncle Star called it Honor. There'd been a visit or two when they were little kids, but that had been ages ago, and brief. Mostly, there'd been photographs in letters and talks on the phone.

Esteban knocked on Zak's door.

"Yeah, they're all pretty cool. Rose can be a bit of a tight-ass sometimes, but she'll mellow out eventually." He laughed at the thought of Rose's face when she's irritated before returning to the real world for some conversation.

"If you met Lucas, did you meet Moira and Danielle? They're cool, too. They're daughters of Him-hari-something-or-other. Some Asgardian God. They usually chill with Lucas. Moira and him are in a relationship, though."

"Hrimhari," Esteban says, grinning. "Uncle Star got me to pronounce it right. Hrimhari's one of his favorite people's he's never met." Esteban switched to a good imitation of Shatterstar's accent. 'I prefer Julio's exes, however innocent the relationship, 'off the store.'" Esteban smirks. "Eight languages the guy speaks, and he can't remember 'off the market'. Anyway, I actually got the scoop from Lucas: they're engaged."
