Taking It Easy Is Harder Than It Looks
Svalin wasn't one for taking it easy. The only time she ever took it easy when she was gravely wounded and couldn't move around. This was a lot different. She could move around, albeit a bit awkwardly, but she wasn't allowed to do anything and she was confined inside the city. Walks along the upper battlements allowed her some fresh air, but it wasn't the same as being out beyond the city and going for a ride on Tryggvi.
Her days were spent reading, walking the battlements and watching the warriors practice. She was always handy with a pointer or two, but she was not allowed to touch a weapon. Einmyria had tried to get her interested in embroidery or doing some needlework citing that the baby would need clothes and blankets, but Svalin had not the patience for it. The last time her mother tried ended up with Svalin throwing everything in her hands in the fireplace.
She returned to her chambers after a walk along the battlements. Soon it would be time to go eat dinner in the great hall, but for now she would sit and put her feet up. Her ankles were swollen and aching along with an aching back. Five more weeks and then she would have a son and less physical issues. A smile came to her face at meeting her son and her eyes closed. A short nap before dinner would be nice.
