Julian called upon Benedict Thorn the morning after his meeting with Minnie, intending to discuss a few things. He didn't need anyone actively plotting against him, though plot they would, whether he liked it or not. He couldn't please everyone, but he did allow the Inner Circle to direct itself as necessary, so long as they came together when needed.

Julian sits behind his desk and thinks over what he's planning to offer Mr. Thorn. He wishes Minnie were here right now, but he'll deal with this as it happens.

"Mr. Howard, we have a Benedict Thorn for you in the lobby." his receptionist says over the speaker.

"Please escort him in." Julian orders.

His feelings towards the little upstarted hadn't changed all that much since Julian's little hostile takeover, but still Benedict had to admit he hadn't done a bad job of things.

Benedict let himself be led into Julian's office. He was wearing a perfect charcoal suit hand made for him in Italy. He always needed to look his best with the political movers he work with.

He kept his contempt for Julian on a leash as he began to talk. "So you wanted to talk to me about something," He asked keeping his tones as friendly as he could make it.

"I did. I wanted for you and I to get on better footing with each other. I know that things have changed, but that doesn't mean we can't find a way to form a civil working relationship. Or does it?" Julian asks.

He's aware that Thorn was a Shaw supporter, but it doesn't bother him.

"You have some tenure in the Inner Circle, but you haven't moved up yet. Is that a personal decision?" he asks.

"I'm never one to reject advantageous acquaintances no matter what I might think of them personally," Benedict says.

He could think of more that a few politicians he met with regularly he would care if something particularly nasty happened to them though he would miss the connections.

"I would have to assume Mr. Shaw had very good reasons for keeping me where I was and as for right now I have my suspicions but not it was not a personal decision," he says. You didn't get to be this high in their organization without being a little power hungry.

So he still doesn't like me, but he's willing to work with me. That's a damn sight better than Louis, at least. Julian thinks.

"Well, I'd like for the two of us to be mutually advantageous to each other, Mr. Thorn. I mean, this isn't church; we don't have to be bosom buddies to work together. So long as we can work together for the total betterment of our organization, I think we can do business." he says.

"I've been looking into extending the Club's reach into the political arena. I'm aware that you have acquaintances in that arena. Right now, it seems to our advantage to support the incumbent, with the current political field the way it is. Senator Stone would gladly become President and start pushing for a new round of the Mutant Registration Act or worse.

I see the Club's interests best served by aiding the incumbent in staying in the White House and making sure his party regains power. What are your thoughts?" he asks.

"I think either one of the candidates could easily serve our uses given we play our cards right," Benedict says, "Though right now the senator is much easier for us to access to ensure they play their parts exactly as we want them too."

He had used his powers on more than one politician over his time doing this to make them do what he wanted them to do. Heck even the Hellfire club probably wasn't aware of just how often he had done so. A man has to have insurances against the worst.

"I think we could probably work something out but what do I gain from this," He asked.

	"Well, for one, you'll know that I'm willing to work with you. I get the same." Julian says. "Provided that this works out, I'm willing to consider your for advancement. "The Hellfire Club's involvement in business has always been notable, but exerting influence in local and global politics will allow us to shape policies around the world. Mutants coming to prominence in this world is something I'd very much like to see." Julian says.

"I also think we should work on getting to know the leaders of some of the regimes around the world. With the troubles in the Middle East right now, there are a lot of untapped markets for both legal and illegal enterprises." Julian says.

"Money and power are the important things, as well as making sure we come out on top wherever we are. This can be done if we're all willing to work for it." Julian says.
