"W-We're not sure," the boy without a toy stammers. "We know that Kimiko ran to the nice man who moved into the village not long ago."
The girl looks a little more worried. "She was crying. She didn't wanna go do the ceremony 'cause it's scary. Our parents are very upset 'cause he gave her rice so trade and sent her away."
The boy with the ball makes another sound. "Yeah. That's not good. Papa keeps saying that the.... if the Bad Thing escapes we're not gonna be able to stop it."
The children aren't quite aware that they're not alive. The little girl perks up though. "Maybe you can talk to Ayumu! He's a little older than us. He's supposed to be watching us. He knows lots of stuff too."
