"Charlotte? What are you-- Charlotte!" Angelo manages to yelp in surprise as the transformation is about mid-way through, which is about when he loses the ability to speak. That lasts through the remainder of the change, at which point he has trouble stringing more than a few syllables together, jaw hanging slack.
"Uh... no... it didn't.."
