"Really?" She puts on the brightest smile ever.

"Okay this is going to sound bad but.... did a big Polish man bring it in?" She puts on an innocent look. "My ex made off with it the other day.... I didn't want to bother anyone over it because he's.... um. You know. 'Scary'."

Oh she's trying so hard to put on a show. She doesn't want a fight and this might be the best way to avoid it.
