McKenzie takes the shot - which actually, to her surprise, staggers her a little.
Shaking it off, she grins - then grabs one of the mutated townsfolk, much to his surprise, and flings him at Kal. Then another. She knows if she lets up, the Eternal will try the trickery she beat Gargantua with - so rather than going right at her, she's trying to force Kal's attention elsewhere while she knows where the blast came from.
Her dad didn't almost keep up with Thor without a few tricks.
