"Hydro power isn't as environmentally friendly as many would think," Anya commented as they started toward the waiting car. "It destroys surrounding environment behind the dam and interferes with wildlife."

Anya knew that there were some feelings against outside interference on the part of some of the island's residents. Just like there were strong feelings against this venture in Genosha by people she knew. Toni was foremost among those who had spoken out against it.
