The first time, the table slides a little, developing cracks, but holds. The second time, there's heavy, jagged cracks in the wood.

With a howl, he backs up, putting everything he can into a running charge. With more enthusiasm than accuracy, he misses the mostly broken table, putting the tree - which breaks under the impact, through the wall again - along with himself - though he trips over the foundation of the wall that remains, ending up flinging the remnants of the broken apple tree into a support beam. It shudders, then cracks - but holds, after just a bit of shaking.

Meanwhile, he's trying to get his dented and worn pot-helmet off his head so he can see, leaving him prone and wide open to an assault by the defender.
