Thor frowns, considering the situation.
"Thou canst not." he begins, letting that rest a few moments. "The loss or morale wouldst be crushing, thine grandfather wouldst be... angered enow to shake the realms, and whilst thou hast commitments, to be sure... all Asgardians hath been asked to set family and all else aside for the realm before, and wilt be again. Thou wouldst hath no less asked of thee than we ask of the line soldier..."
then his tone softens. "But yet, there mayst be a way. In the past, I hath seen to other protectorates, e'en before the throne... but it wilt not be any easier a road. Merely different... but if thou art undaunted by challenge... then mayhap."
