Natasha listened to Tony and better understood the situation. At least the girl was willing to talk to her. It wasn't much, but it was at least something.
Natasha couldn't fathom just abandoning a child like the girl's mother had. Natasha hadn't been the primary parent for Anya or Misha, but she still loved her kids and had made every effort to be around as much as she possibly could.
She agreed to the terms and waited in the kitchen with Nick. It was better to let the girl approach her than for Natasha to approach the girl. She occupied Nick by giving him cookies and telling him a story in Russian.
