With the way his powers were, he was a walking leaking faucet of magic with only the gloves and countless spells layered on top to keep it in check. Power levels running out weren't a problem, it was keeping it in control that was. And getting to unleash a little always had him more relaxed and happier, there was less worry that his hands might spark accidentally to let off the extra.

"That's nice. And I can read latin and accidentally turn chairs into toads but that doesn't mean your wrists aren't limp."
