Martin sits cross-legged just outside of Nick's creation and spreads his fingers out so they lightly touch the edge of where his wards begin. While Nick begins speaking the beginning of the needed ritual, Martin makes sure he's providing a steady flow of magic in, as steady as he can possibly make it which required a lot of concentration. But this way Nick might have an easier time and the wards would keep the unwanted elements out better.
