He was so familiar with the penthouse that he didn't need light to make his way from the front door to the upstairs master suite. There he went to the cabinet safe in the corner, the only piece of furniture that didn't match. He keyed in the code to open the digital lock. He chose the lock specifically so Anya would be able to open it without needing the code. Little Sister was his back up. If necessary, she would have access to the stealth suit. He trusted her to use that genius brain of hers and know if he was still capable enough and sane enough to use it properly.
Getting it on was muscle memory now; he was fully suited in less than ninety seconds, including the undersuit that helped cushion the armor against his skin and absorb the sweat. His body ran hot on a normal basis and the suit would turn into a sauna even with the onboard cooling system.
He went directly to the terrace downstairs. It was just after midnight. The sky was cold and black. The city lights made seeing the stars nearly impossible. Tonight he wanted to see stars.
He blasted up into the night.
