Normally her firing wouldn't be enough to take him down, but he's vulnerable and on the ground, has already taken blows, his armour is damaged, and his ears still ringing. Kael may be able to get out of the way, but there's no way The Flame can, and the full force of her attacks hit him hard.
When the dust clears, the flame coming through Hrinmeer's helmet seems extinguished and with a final groan The Flame is out.
