If I Gave Up That Easily, Nothing Would Ever Get Done
Vincent's thoughts wandered as he went over some of the paperwork for one of his college courses. Valeria and Bentley may have gotten there ahead of him, but he was confident he'd have his first doctorate in a perfectly respectable amount of time as well. Still, he'd been thinking of the holiday party, and Lyta Worthington. She'd played hard to get. Not something he was accustomed to encountering in his lifetime, and he was intrigued. His paper didn't make much more headway before he put it aside to put his mind to work on contacting her. As soon as he has it, and has his thoughts collected, he calls her cell.

	They set a time and bid a polite goodbye for the time being. Vincent arrived early, and waited for her at the door, a very small bouquet of flowers in hand. Nothing overt, just some daisies and baby's breath for gentlemanly value. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

He holds out her chair as they get seated. "I hope you're hungry. The portions at this place are very generous, even if you don't realize it fully until you've finished. Small plates, but there's a lot of them one after the other." He sits down across from her and just helps himself to an quiet extended but polite gaze at her. She is rather pleasant to look at, after all.

I mean, I love my family and friends more than anything, but I think some of my restlessness has been over that I've never really had to seek anything else out." Vincent rubs his chin. "Not a clue. The only recent development is that I've taken a shine to writing." He shrugs. "At first it was just because I used to be so abysmally bad at it in my standard education, but then I started enjoying it." He chews his lip as he settles on a drink.

"But I just keep feeling as if there's something... I suppose 'more substantial' would be the way to describe it? I mean, I don't intend to sound like I'm bragging, but I'm already one of the more accomplished mages and probably one of the twenty smartest people on Earth. Like if da Vinci or Tesla decided to become salesmen or poets. I worry that I'm letting my potential to make discoveries or do good for others would be going to waste."

He considers 'twenty' to be being very humble.

"That's on the list, yes. I just... it's a country. A small country, granted, but still. I've already got the whole 'heir' thing as a sword over my head. Just the occasional party appearance or message delivered for the Embassy so far, but still.

Studying to take over a corporation sounds much more satisfying, by comparison, even if not necessarily easier." He gives her a nod, trying to word things to make it clear he's not dismissing her own path at all.
