Martin swoops to and fro on his disc, flying wildly to dodge the attack but all while not looking back and concentrating very hard on his incantation. The bolt hits and nearby building, causing more, rather flashy, damage to add to this fight. He just needs a bit of time so getting the guy to chase might do that. He'd done this spell a few times and he felt it only fair that if this guy got to fling fireballs that he would too. Except his version is much larger and has that pesky time requirement, it also meant he couldn't' teleport out while working on it. Hopefully it didn't blow up in his face like that last time against the talking cyborg pirate dinosaur.
As the chase goes on a small ball of flame seems to trail behind Martin growing larger and larger as it goes. He keeps up his concentration until that part of the spell is done. Then the fiery ball flares up and begins shooting fireballs at Gerald.
