Frances only got a moment's warning of
something is wrong and sat up in concern, when the squiggle when ballistic and part of it came her way. "Oh shi-" she shouted and dived for over the back of the couch, hoping to dodge the pyrotechnics and only have to deal with bruised knees for landing hard. The bolt got her anyway and as she landed she suddenly felt- Itchy and goosebumpy at the same time and a case of vertigo while things went blurry.
After a few minutes, because she had to tell the world what she though of it's humor, she came around the upended sofa, like a bat out of hell.
"This is not happening, this is not happening!" she declared while running around, though it came out more a high pitched 'screee' than words.
