Asleif Thorsdottir ([info]godlierthanthou) wrote in [info]marvel_nextgen,
Asleif
Twas once a realm called Asgard,
The Golden Heart of Worlds Nine,
Twas where the gods did dwell,
And where the gods did die.

There was the Lady Asleif,
Bloodlines of light and dark,
Most mysterious and secretive,
And only one who knew her heart.

Always the unfavored,
Looked upon with suspicion and with scorn,
Left alone among the ruins,
And in her victory, left to mourn.

No one knows why she made her choice,
What finally caused her to betray,
But always was she thought the dark one,
And thus did she truly become that way.

For promise of power,
For promise of breaking all to her will,
She betrayed her home, her family,
And gave Asgard to Jotun's mighty chill

With Asleif's spells and secret knowing,
The Realm was quick to fall,
And those that had always doubted her,
Were found correct after all.

Her siblings died like heroes,
The gods fought to the last,
But betrayed as they had been,
They died and died quite fast.

Promised power,
Faded glory,
Left alone,
this is her story.

The Goddess who betrayed them all,
She'll keep her watch while she still lives,
Alone with the deeds she has done,
And crimes she cannot forgive.

The last of the Gods,
the one who brought them low,
In the end, as always was,
She was her greatest foe.

For vanity,
For glory,
Her dark desires,
Learn from this story.

Watching this dead realm,
Until the end of time,
Forever bound by her sins,
Forever bound by her crime.

Here she sits,
To watch the end,
All alone,
With neither foe nor friend.

In frozen Asgard,
No more touched by sun,
It was not worth it,
The deeds that she has done.

In darkened Asgard,
Surrounded by those slain,
Haunted by the voices,
Of those she has betrayed.
