Martin Baum ([info]magic_hands) wrote in [info]marvel_nextgen,
Father's day and Mother's day were terrible holidays for Martin, and he got progressively more quiet and depressed as they approached and all the ads kept reminding him of it. It was was one of the days of the year where he quite actively did not like himself. Just a very constant reminder that'd he'd been the one who had killed his parents.

After adding his magic to Marlow's dove spell, he did what he did every year since it had happened, barricaded himself in his room and tried desperately to not use magic and to think of other things. It was never very effective, but at least these years he could lock himself in his room at the HQ and not the one at the Sanctum that had far too much magic and reminders in the air.

Dr. Strange understood, and Martin always made extra effort the next day to thank him by being incredibly helpful at the Sanctum to show his gratitude for everything Dr. Strange had done for him. He might not be his father, but he was the closest thing Martin had to one right now.
