Lost (After the events of Night Patrol)
Dolemeck was about to walk back to Tyler's apartment when he stopped by the pet store. Since his talk with Vincent, he was thinking about buying a pet bird to keep around. But that would require talking to tyler first, as it was his place... and they were still looking for a larger place to live.

Still dressed in his uniform, he looked next to him to find a sobbing child. His eyes went wide as he looked around, not finding anyone who was responding to this child's cries. Getting down on his knee, he tried to talk and console the little boy who was sobbing.

"Are you okay, little one?" He asked in his accented voice. "Where is your Mum? Did she come with you to the pet store?"

"I lost my Mommyyyyy!" The child sobbed more. "I don't know what a mum is, but I lost my Mommy!"

This was going to be a long day.

Bram was walking from Greg's club having gone there to get a drink and do a little business and management. It was a little annoying but he needed to make sure he was still making money. Not that he would complain compared to what other people had to do.

As he walked back to his place he noticed someone familiar on the side of the sidewalk. "What are you doing," he asked.

"This child is crying, and lost, and does not know what a Mum is!" Dolemeck looked up at Bram all wide eyed and panicked as he continued to try and console the lost child. "I do not know what to do or where to take him! He has not stopped crying for about three minutes now, and no one appears to care!"

The child sniffled, looking up at Bram and walking over to him and hugging his legs.

"I lost my Mommy! And this creepy guy asked if I knew where my Mum was... I think he's a bad man! Make him go away!"

"I-I... I am not a bad man!" Dolemeck pouted, standing back up to his full height.

"Yeah... well you look like one! This man looks nice!"

"So see if he knew were home is or call the cops," Bram suggests. He tensed up when the kid grabbed hold of his leg hugging it. Get it off me, Bram mouths to Dolemeck.

Dolemeck gently grabbed the child by his shoulders to try and gently pry him off of Bram.

"Child, you should not grab on to the leg of a stranger. Now, do you know where you live or where you last saw your Mommy?" He finally managed to get the child free of Bram's leg. Before Dolemeck could try and ask more questions or console the crying boy, his mother came out of he salon two doors down from the pet store.

"What do you think you are doing with my son!?" She yelled at Dolemeck. Again, he tried to stand up and answer, only to be hit with a purse to the face. This knocked him to the side, and then be kicked him in the side by the angered woman. "You stay away from my boy you... you freak! Someone call the cops! He just tried to take my boy! You saw it! You all saw it!"

Dolemeck was not fighting back. He had been told not to hit a woman, as it was cowardly act. But part of him wanted to, and that part of him was turning his eyes red and causing his nails to sharpen. The next blow finally got him to stand back up before there was another. His eyes were bright red, and his face showing an anger not even Bram had seen in the man.

"Mi'lady." he spoke in a stern, yet angry voice. "You left your son out here, unattended, while you decided to do something selfish for yourself! A proper mother would have been watching her son at all times! Out of everyone here, I was the ONLY one who tried to look for you and console this child! Yet, you call me names and insist I was going to do something bad!? You are lucky he was not kidnapped or worse! If I were you, I would re-evaluate my values in life and be a bloody parent!"

The woman's eyes went wide, along with that of her son. She took her child by the arm and walked back to the salon as fast as her legs could take her. Dolemeck just stood there, trying to take deep breaths to calm himself. Thankfully no one noticed the change in his fingernails.

"I little harsh there mate," Bram says glad not to be dealing with the kid any more. He noticed what had happened with Dolemeck's eyes and made a note to keep an eye on that in the future.

His eyes began to turn back to their bright green in nature, and his fingernails turned back to normal. He now looked completely upset with himself. Even hanging his head. "I did not mean to be so harsh, Bram."

"Yeah might want to work on that," Bram says, "Or is that some of the dark ages coming through."

"I do not know what it is, to be honest." He spoke softly, his eyes looking at his own reflection in the store window before turning back to Bram. "I do not know what came over me."

"You really might want to look into that," Bram says not voicing his suspicions for now.

"How?" he finally turned around to face Bram completely. "Do you know something I do not, Bram? Have you found something in your research?"

"Look into what set that off in you," Bram says, "I've found nothing substantial yet and definitely nothing to talk about yet."

"What set that off..." He thought for a moment before he finally got an answer. "She did not care about her son, just her own selfishness. A parent is supposed to love their child and watch after them..."

"Or maybe her child ran off and she freaked out seeing a stranger holding him," Bram pointed out as another possibility. "But I'm guessing there's something personal there?"

"Aye..." He hated the fact Bram could read him so well, and that he was quite transparent to the world. Dolemeck was fighting very hard to keep his composure.

"Well whatever it is you better look into getting it under control," Bram says. He didn't like potential liabilities in the field so whatever personal business he needed to take care he hoped happened sooner rather than later.

"I will try not to lose my temper again." he sounded like a child who had just been scolded by a sibling or family member. "I will take care of it. Maybe read some books on the issue or try and try to relax more."

He turned his attention back to the pet store window, looking back at it with a sigh.

"No matter what I do, Bram. No matter how kind of a man I can be, I will always be seen as a monster. The hard thing is that I know I do not wish to be one, but part of me is and always will be one." He sighed, then forced a smile on his face as he looked over at Bram. "Enough talk of such nonsense. Would you like to go do something? My treat!"

"Oh... w-well..." Dolemeck looked somewhat disappointed in this, but understood. After the Tryk attack, it was probably best to stay to a strict training regimen. "I understand. I do not wish to keep you, Bram."

"I AM elderly." Dolemeck gave off a pained sigh. "I am almost over a thousand and a half years old, Bram! Even my Mum and Dad could not help me figure out modern technology, and they work for a foundation that provides it!"

He then rubbed the back of his neck, having to admit something else to Bram. "Tyler has also banned me from the internet, saying it is not something for my eyes."

"Elderly isn't an excuse though my grandpa used to explain the internet to people my age back before he pasted," Bram explains. Gramps really like to stay ahead of the curve with technology.

"Did he say why he thought that?"
