Kristoff was quite the hypocrite (he acknowledge this and blamed the Richards blood for it). As much as he'd tried to establish a level of independent responsibility in raising Vincent, he often wished Cassie would take more help.
But there are lines and he doesn't cross them. When he can help himself.
