Iason takes the abuse of the drones willingly, not trying to dodge or protect himself to optimize his focus on drawing in every source of available energy. Then he transmits everything he draws towards Galactus, hoping that in combination with the weakening of the bonds, that Galactus can free himself.
If this doesn't work, they're lost.
