At least she'd repositioned; it was worse than she'd thought. She's on her guard and reacts enough to push Andrew out of the path of the energy shots -- there was a chance they might be harmless to him, but that was never something she would bet on.
She also moves herself enough to avoid a direct hit, but some of the charge still gets her across the back. ...Ma foi, that hurt. A lot.

The charge was building up, but she wasn't in a position to safely flare up and take them both far away right this moment. Instead, she charges up both her hands and targets the attacker with one -- and Andrew with the other.

Unlike whatever that was, she knows a bioelectric shock won't hurt Andrew. Quite the contrary.
