Kristoff, having returned from the weekend in Costa Rica with Cassandra, made sure breakfast was special. All the usual spoiling-rotten breakfast additions, and -- carefully separated from all food items, of course -- a copy of Arrilynn Williams's Occult Ancient History. It had been a pretty rare printing, difficult to track down, and Kristoff was fairly certain Vincent would really enjoy it.
It was bookmarked at a particularly good page with a gift certificate and reservations information for Vincent and Andrea at a particularly nice restaurant.
"I had thought about getting you a car, but it just seemed wasteful."
