The noise subsided and Gabriel attained balance in the air. The beating of his wings was steady, and he released his ears from the powerful clamping of his own hands. A sigh of relief escaped him, and he replied to the older girl with, "It's fine, I guess. And thank you."
He was still a little shaky on feelings about the two youngsters, but the girl was kind enough to offer an apology and said the words he wanted to hear; that he would be escorted inside. "I guess I let the two of you lead the way then," he stated, and made a landing on the ground.
